Release pressure from the brake accumulator. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Brake Accumulator Pressure - Release". Note: SERVICE DATA: TOOLING (ZZ) WILL NOT BE IDENTIFIED IN PHOTOGRAPHS IN THE REMOVAL OR THE INSTALLATION. THIS TOOLING IS SHOWN IN ORDER TO ASSIST THE EXPERIENCED SERVICEMAN.Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
When it is necessary to work under the machine with the body (bed) raised, attach the body (bed) retaining cables to the rear tow points. Install the rear tow point pins through the ends of the retaining cables.Failure to properly secure the body (bed) may result in personal injury or death.

Raise the body until the rear tow point pins on the axle housing align with the ends of the retaining cables. Install the rear tow point pins.

Remove bolts (2) and disconnect bracket (1).

Disconnect hose assemblies (3) from tee (4).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to accumulator (5). The weight of accumulator (5) is approximately 272 kg (600 lb).

Remove mounting bolts (6). Remove accumulator (5) from the truck.
