WRENCH A 8T3131 - Caterpillar

1. Put identification on electric wires (2) as to their location on the alternator. Disconnect the wires from the alternator.2. Loosen nut (4) on belt tightener adjustment rod (5). Loosen two bolts (6) and push alternator back and remove belt (3). 3. Remove bolt (1). Remove bolts (6) and (7). Remove alternator (8) from the mounting bracket.Install Alternator
1. Put the alternator (2) in position on the mounting bracket. Install bolts (4).2. Install the bolt (1) that holds belt tightener adjustment rod to the alternator. Install bolt (3) that holds adjustment rod to mounting bracket. 3. Install belt (7) on the alternator pulley. Make an adjustment to the belt tension. See LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE. Tighten nut (5).4. Connect three electrical wires (6) to the alternator.
