All 3204 and 3208 EnginesDescription of Change: A new thrust washer is now used in the valve mechanism group for 3208 Engines. The new thrust washer has a smoother surface finish to give a reduction of wear for the rocker arm bracket. The rotation of the former thrust washer against the aluminum rocker arm bracket caused high aluminum content in oil samples. It is possible to take the high aluminum content in an oil sample to be an indication of piston or bearing wear.
Adaptable As: The new 2W6047 Washer is a direct replacement for the former 9L9398 Washer. The new washer is in effect on the engines shown in the chart.
