Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
Remove the second from the front side cover on the LH side of the engine. Identify the scavenge oil pump installed on the engine. The pump part number is located on the rear of the pump. The 144-8267 Scavenge Oil Pump can also be distinguished from 1W-8508 Scavenge Oil Pump by the fact that the 144-8267 Scavenge Oil Pump is slightly longer. A mirror and a flashlight, and/or draining of a small amount of engine oil may be needed to adequately view the pump and the pump part number.

If the pump is identified as a 144-8267 Scavenge Oil Pump, replace the side cover and restore to the proper engine oil level. 144-8267 Scavenge Oil Pump is the correct pump for this engine.
If the pump is identified as 1W-8508 Scavenge Oil Pump, remove the pump and replace with a 144-8267 Scavenge Oil Pump per Disassembly and Assembly, SENR1520 for 789C Off-Highway Trucks, or per Disassembly and Assembly, RENR8334 for 793D Off-Highway Trucks.
