Information:
Preparation - Filling and Flushing
Move the machine to a smooth, horizontal location that is away from operating machines and away from personnel.
Use suitable lifting devices in order to lift the machine. The tracks must be able to turn freely in both directions.
Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all other personnel away from the machine or in the operator sight.
Place the steering control lever in the NEUTRAL position.
Engage the parking brake.
Lower the attachments to the ground. Procedure - Filling the Hydrostatic System
Stop the engine. Note: The monitoring system (if equipped) for your machine accesses many values that are useful in troubleshooting the hydraulic system. When the situation is appropriate, use the monitoring system in order to find a pressure or determine a system problem.

Connect the communication adapter to service tool connector (E1).
Release pressure in the hydraulic system. Reference: Refer to Testing and Adjusting, KENR5644, "Procedure - Filling the Hydrostatic System" for hydraulic system pressure release procedure.
Remove the floorplate in the operator station.

Remove hose (3).
Remove tube (5).
Remove fittings (4).
Fill the pump cases through the case drain ports (4) with clean hydraulic oil that is used in the hydraulic tank. Fill each pump to the bottom threads of the case drain port.
Install fittings (4).
Install tube (5).
Install hose (3). Note: If the machine is equipped with a winch, fill the pump case for the winch. Refer to Specifications, Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, Disassembly and Assembly, KENR6174, "Filling and Flushing the Hydrostatic System".
Set the floorplate back into the original position.
Start the engine and run the engine at LOW IDLE.
Use Electronic Technician (ET) in order to view the loop pressures.
Select the "Information" option from the menu. Then, select the "Status" from the drop-down menu.
Illustration 5 g02790507
Select the "Hystat Inputs" option on the left side bar.
All four loop pressures (Right and Left Travel Pressures) must be 2800 +400/ -225 kPa (406 +58/ -33 psi) within 10 seconds after you start the engine.
If the pressure is low, stop the engine.
Check the hydraulic oil level. Add hydraulic oil, if necessary.
Determine the cause of the low pressure and repair the cause.
Repeat Step 4 through Step 21 until the loop pressure is correct.

Use Cat Electronic Technician (ET) in order to perform the transmission stall test. Select the "Diagnostics" option from the menu. Then, select "Diagnostic Tests" from the drop-down menu. Select "Transmission Stall" from the selection menu. Follow the instructions that are provided.
Start the engine.
Select the ground speed setting of "0.1".
Increase engine speed to 1100 rpm.
Move the speed and direction control to the FORWARD position.
Slowly, increase the ground speed setting until both loop pressures reach 10000 5000 kPa (1450 725 psi). Maintain this pressure for 90 30 seconds in order to fill the motor case.
Return the speed and direction control to the NEUTRAL position.
Decrease engine speed to LOW IDLE.
Engage the parking brake.
Exit the stall test in ET.
Stop the engine.
Check the hydraulic tank level. Add hydraulic oil, if necessary. Procedure - Calibration After Replacement
