When cooling system is drained, close pressure module valve (5). Relieve the system pressure by pulling pressure relief valve (6). Make the necessary repairs to the cooling system.Coolant Vacuum Fill Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Personal injury can result from hot coolant, steam and alkali.At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot coolant or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns.Remove filler cap slowly to relieve pressure only when engine is stopped and radiator cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Cooling System Conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Turn coolant tank valve (1) to CLOSED (2).

(4) Surge tank cap adapter
Connect vacuum module (3) to surge tank cap adapter (4).

Turn vacuum module vent valve (5) to CLOSED. Make sure that vacuum module air valve (6) is turned to CLOSED.

Connect air hose (7) to vacuum module (3).

(8) Vacuum module exhaust hose
Make sure that vacuum module exhaust hose (8) is positioned in a safe manner.

(6) Vacuum module air valve
Open vacuum module air valve (6).
Allow the vacuum module to draw 68 kPa (20.08 inch mercury) to 85 kPa (25.10 inch mercury) on the cooling system.

When vacuum module gauge reaches green zone, turn coolant tank valve (1) to FILL VEHICLE (9).

(11) Surge tank
Observe the coolant level in surge tank (11). When the coolant level reaches the coolant "Cold Minimum" level (10), close vacuum module air valve (6). Allow the existing vacuum to finish filling the cooling system. Open the vacuum module vent valve when the gauge reaches 10 kPa (3 inch mercury) in the red zone.

Disconnect shop air hose (7) from vacuum module (3).
Remove vacuum module (3) and coolant surge tank adaptor (4) from surge tank (11).
Disconnect the cooling management hose from the cooling system quick disconnect.
Ensure that the coolant is at the coolant cold minimum level (10) and replace the surge tank cap.
