Information:

1. Use tool (A) if necessary to install seals (2) and (3) in the head. Install seal (2) with the lip in as shown.2. Use tooling (B) to install lip type seal (1) in the head. Install the seal with the lip out as shown.3. Install backup ring (4) and O-ring seal (5) on the outside diameter of the head. Put clean oil on edge of each seal.
Seal (6) must be made larger (stretched) evenly about its circumference. Do not make the seal any larger than necessary.
4. Put seal assembly (6) in position on tool (C). Make the seal larger and then release the tension on the seal assembly. Reposition the seal assembly on tool (C). Again make the seal assembly larger and then release the tension on the seal assembly. Make the seal just large enough to be installed on the piston. Numbers on the guide bar on the expander assembly correspond with the piston diameter and give the correct indication of the needed size on the moveable block after the tension is released on the seal assembly. 5. Install seal assembly (6) and ring (7) on the piston. 6. Put crown (10), head (9) and piston (8) in position on the rod.7. Put 2P2506 Thread Lubricant on the threads of the bolt that holds piston (8) in position on the rod. Install the bolt and washer that hold the piston in position.8. Put tooling (D) in position. Use tooling (D) to tighten the bolt for articulation cylinders to a torque of 1200 120 lb.ft. (1627 163 N m). Tighten the bolt on earlier blade sideshift cylinders (8J5568) to a torque of 1250 125 lb.ft. (1695 169 N m). Tighten later blade sideshift cylinders (4T340) bolts to a torque of 1345 129 lb.ft. (1825 175 N m). Use tooling (D) to tighten the bolts for earlier blade tip cylinders (cylinders that do not have snap rings to hold the bearings in each end of the cylinder) and for the wheel lean cylinder to a torque of 800 80 lb.ft. (1085 108 N m). Use tooling (D) to tighten the bolt on later blade tip cylinders (cylinders that do have snap rings to hold the bearings in each end of the cylinder) to a torque of 829 74 lb.ft. (1125 100 N m).9. Remove tooling (D). 10. Put cylinder (11) in position over the piston, head and rod. Remove the support from under the rod.11. Put clean grease on the threads on the outside diameter of the cylinder and on the threads on the inside diameter of crown (10).12. Install the crown on the cylinder. Use tool (E) to tighten the crown to the correct torque. Use the following formula to determine the correct amount of force (in lbs.) to use to get the correct torque. "X" is the amount of force (in pounds) needed to get the correct torque on the crown."Y" is the torque that
