Remove Timing Gear Cover (D330C, D333C, 3304 & 3306 Industrial Engines)
start by: a) remove water pumpb) remove fan and fan drivec) remove alternatord) remove crankshaft front seale) remove crankshaft front seal wear sleeve 1. Remove the bolts (1) that hold oil pan to timing gear cover. Loosen the remainder of the oil pan and oil pan plate bolts.2. Lift the front of the engine and put spacers between the block and oil pan plate. 3. Remove bolts (2) and two drive covers (3). 4. Install two eyebolts and fasten a hoist. Remove timing gear cover bolts (4). 5. Remove timing gear cover (5).Install Timing Gear Cover (D330C, D333C, 3304 & 3306 Industrial Engines)
1. Install a new gasket on the timing gear cover. Install timing gear cover and bolts. Cut the gasket so it is even with the oil pan plate.2. Install two drive covers.3. Remove spacers from between block and oil pan plate. start by: a) remove heat exchanger and expansion tankb) remove jacket water pumpc) remove sea water pumpd) remove vibration damper and pulleye) remove crankshaft front seal1. Remove bolts that hold the oil pan to the timing gear cover. Loosen the remainder of the oil pan and oil pan plate bolts. 2. Lift the front of the engine and install a spacer (1) between the oil pan plate and cylinder block. 3. Remove the bolts and one nut that holds the engine front support (4).4. Remove bolts and nuts (2).5. Remove timing gear cover (3).Install Timing Gear Cover (D330C, D333C, 3304 & 3306 Marine Engines)
1. Install a new timing gear cover gasket.2. Install the timing gear cover and the bolts that hold it.3. Install the engine front support and lower the engine.4. Cut the timing gear cover gasket so it is even with the bottom face of the cylinder block.5. Remove spacer from between oil pan plate and cylinder block.6.
