Installation Procedure

Install the four O-ring seals (4) on the aftercooler core tubes. Put soap on the O-ring seals.
Install two 3/8 inch guide bolts on each end of the top row of bolts for the aftercooler.
Install a 1/2 inch forged eyebolt (1) with a jam nut in the top of the aftercooler (2). Fasten a suitable lifting device to the eyebolt. Carefully position the aftercooler on the guide bolts. Install the bolts that hold the aftercooler on the cylinder block.

Install new O-ring seals on the two adapters (5). Put soap on the O-ring seals. Install two adapters (5) and two adapters (6) in the aftercooler.

Install new rings (8) and O-ring seals (9) on the aftercooler water tubes. Put soap on the O-ring seals. Install the adapters (7) on the tubes.

Ensure that the O-ring seals are in place in the adapters. Install the aftercooler water outlet tube (10). Install the aftercooler water inlet tube (11). Connect the vent tube to the aftercooler water outlet tube (10).

Typical Example
Install the actuator and the choke to the aftercooler with the bolts (14). If the rod assembly was disconnected from the actuator or disconnected from the choke plate, refer to the Specifications Manual, SENR4257, "Air Lines (Choke)" for instructions on calibration.
Attach the connector to the fitting (12).
Put the ignition wires in position. Install the two clips with the four bolts (13).

Put soap on the O-ring seals of the flange and the pipe (16).
Install the flange and the pipe with the bolts (15).
Use a new gasket. Install the elbow (17) with the bolts.
Fill the aftercooler/oil cooler circuit with coolant to the correct level. Refer to the Operations And Maintenance Manual for additional information.
