Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Ensure that the O-ring seal is installed on the adapter of the engine oil pump and place clean engine oil on the O-ring seal.
Install Tooling (A) in the engine oil pan and install the gasket.

Typical example
Lift the engine onto the engine oil pan. The engines have the following weights:
G3508 Engines weigh approximately 4300 kg (9500 lb).
G3512 Engines weigh approximately 5443 kg (12000 lb).
G3516 Engines weigh approximately 6440 kg (14200 lb).
The engine oil pans have the following weights:
G3508 engine oil pan weighs approximately 295 kg (650 lb).
G3512 engine oil pan weighs approximately 364 kg (800 lb).
G3516 engine oil pan weighs approximately 393 kg (865 lb).
Install bolts (2) on engine oil pan (3).

Install bolts (1) that hold the adapter of the engine oil pump to the engine oil pan. Note: Refer to Specifications, "Engine Oil Pan" for more information.
Fill the engine to the correct level with clean engine oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil - Change".
