The current design of camshaft has a thicker flange. Refer to the Engine News that is referenced for more details on the current design.This camshaft journal has bolt holes for a camshaft segment with a thin flange on one end. The camshaft journal also has bolt holes for a camshaft segment with a thick flange on the other end. The camshaft journal is shown in the illustration below. A single camshaft segment with a thin flange and a camshaft journal can be removed as a single unit, and a camshaft segment with a thick flange can then be installed with the new camshaft journal. Refer to the guidelines that are referenced on the removal and installation of a camshaft segment and journal.
