2. Remove the wiring harness (3) for glow plugs.3. Remove lifting eyebolt (1), and move the junction box (2) clear of cylinder head. Install the eyebolt in cylinder head. 4. Remove air inlet line (11) for air compressor.5. Remove the sending unit (10) for water temperature from the cylinder head.6. Remove outlet line for water (9) for the air compressor.7. Remove bypass line for water (7) for water pump.8. Remove vent line (6) for water pump.9. Remove water outlet elbow (4) for cylinder head.10. Remove breather pipe (8).11. Remove the bolts (5) that fasten cylinder head to cylinder block.12. Fasten a hoist and remove the cylinder head. Weight of cylinder head is 200 lb. (91 kg).Install Cylinder Head
1. Install a new and dry cylinder head gasket.2. Fasten a hoist and put the cylinder head assembly into position on cylinder block. Install the push rods, and put the rocker shaft and arms in position on cylinder head. 3. Put 9M3710 Anti-Seize Compound on threads of fastening bolts for cylinder head. Install the bolts and washers. Tighten the bolts in the following Step sequence: 1 Tighten numbered bolts in number order to 115 lb.ft. (15,9 mkg).2 Tighten numbered bolts in number order to 175 5 lb.ft. (24,2 0,7 mkg).3 Tighten all numbered bolts in number order (hand torque only) to 175 5 lb.ft. (24,2 0,7 mkg).4 Tighten all lettered bolts in alphabetical order to 22 lb.ft. (3,0 mkg).5 Tighten all lettered bolts in alphabetical order to 32 5 lb.ft. (4,4 0,7 mkg).6 Tighten all lettered bolts in alphabetical order (hand torque only) to 32 5 lb.ft. (4,4 0,7 mkg).4. Make an adjustment to the rocker arms so inlet valve clearance will be .015 in. (0,38 mm) and exhaust valve clearance will be .025 in. (0,64 mm).5. Install the breather pipe.6. Install water outlet elbow on cylinder head.7. Install vent line and bypass line for water for the water pump.8. Install outlet line for water for air compressor.9. Install sending unit for water temperature in cylinder head. Install the air inlet line for air compressor.10. Remove eyebolt and put junction box in position. Install eyebolt. Install the wiring harness.11. Install elbow and support assembly for the air cleaner. Fill the cooling system.end by: a) install rocker shaft, arms and push rodsb) install exhaust manifold
