Position port block (21) onto pump housing (3). Install bolts (20).

Install Tooling (B) onto the pump housing. Use the dial indicator to determine the end play of shaft (25). Be sure that you move shaft (25) completely in both directions. Use appropriate tools to move shaft (25).
The thickness of shim (27) found in Step 22 should equal the end play measurement plus 0.0508 mm (0.00200 inch). For example, if the end play is 2.1590 mm (0.08500 inch) then the shim thickness should be 2.2098 mm (0.08700 inch).
Record the measurement.
If necessary, grind the shim to the determined measurement.

Remove bolts (20), port block (21), and the bearing cone.

Wrap pistons (30) with string but do not tie the string. Hold the string tight and install rotating group (28) into pump housing (3). The splines on shaft (25) must engage with splines in retaining ball (32).

Install shim (27) onto shaft (25).

Install O-ring seal (22) and port plate (23) onto port block (21).

Install spool (18) to body (19). Install spring retainer (17). Install springs (15) and (16). Install seat (14) to plug (5). Install O-ring seal (13) to plug (5).
Install spool (12) to body (19). Install spring retainer (11). Install springs (9) and (10). Install seat (8) to plug (4). Install O-ring seal (7) to plug (4).

Install fittings (6) to compensator valve (1). Install plugs (4) and (5) to compensator valve (1).

Position compensator valve (1) and the gasket onto pump housing (3). Install bolts (2).End By:
