Remove the tires and rims. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tire and Rim - Remove".
Remove the final drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Final Drive - Remove".
Remove the spindle and the wheel. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Spindle and Wheel - Remove".

Place the spindle and the wheel assembly as a unit on an appropriate work surface. wheel assembly (1) must face upward. Attach Tooling (A) to the left side and to the right side of wheel assembly (1). Attach suitable lifting straps and a hoist to Tooling (A) .
Remove eight bolts (2) from wheel assembly (1). Remove retainer (3) from wheel assembly (1). Remove the shim pack from wheel assembly (1) .
Remove hub (4) and the roller bearing that is on the bottom of the hub as a unit from wheel assembly (1) .

Remove bearing cone (5) from hub (4) .
Remove wheel assembly (1) from the spindle. There is a Duo-Cone seal in the bottom of the wheel assembly. Be careful to not damage the Duo-Cone seal during the removal of the wheel assembly.

Rotate wheel assembly (1) by 180 degrees. Remove the Duo-Cone seal that consists of seal ring (6) and rubber toric ring (7) from the bottom of wheel assembly (1) .

Typical Example
Use Tooling (B) in order to remove bearing cup (8) from wheel assembly (1) .
