Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

Use pin (6) and a hammer, or use a press in order to install bearing (13) .

Place clamp ring (12) into position. Install six bolts (11) .

Position the center suspension frame under the machine. Attach Tooling (A) and appropriate nylon lifting slings to each side of the rear of center suspension frame (1) .
Place the front of the center suspension frame on an appropriate floor jack.
Use Tooling (A) and the floor jack in order to raise the frame to the machine. The weight of frame (1) is 187 kg (412 lb).

Install six bolts (10) to housing (9) .Note: It may be necessary to leave the bolts loose until the frame is connected at each point.

Use three people or an appropriate lifting device in order to position bracket (8) to the machine. The weight of the bracket is 40 kg (88 lb). Install six bolts (7) and the washers that secure the bracket to housing (9). Note: It may be necessary to leave the bolts loose until the frame is connected at each point.

Lubricate pin (6). Install the pin. Use a suitable driver in order to install the pin.

Note: Apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound to the threads of bolt (5) .
Install bolt (5), the washer, washer (3), nut (4), and the washer.
Connect grease line (2) to washer (3) .
Remove Tooling (A) and the floor jack from the machine.
Lubricate pin (6). Use the grease fitting on the bulkhead adapter. The fitting is located near the front of the rear frame. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7064 for the proper procedure.End By: Install the rear axle stabilizer rod. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rear Axle Stabilizer Rod - Remove and Install".
