The seat belt of this machine is retractable.Always check the condition of the seat belt and mounting hardware before operating the machine.Replace the seat belt at least once every three years, regardless of appearance. A stamped date label, to determine the age of the belt, is attached onto each belt.

When this machine was shipped from Caterpillar, Inc., this machine was equipped with a seat belt and with a seat belt installation. At the time of installation, the seat belt and the seat belt installation met "SAE J386 JUN85" for an industrial machine and "SAE J386 JUN93". Consult your Caterpillar dealer for all replacement parts.Inspect the webbing for wear and for fraying.Check for a buckle that is worn or damaged. Check the anticreep slide that is mounted on each half of the seat belt. Replace the seat belt, the buckle, or the slides if the seat belt, the buckle, and the slides are worn or damaged.If the bolt and the nut that holds the two parts of the seat belt mounting hooks together are not correctly installed, the hooks can separate. The separation of the hooks will allow the seat belt to separate from the seat belt mounting.Remove the old bolt and the old nut if the bolt and the nut are not correctly installed. (1) Retractor. (2) Seat Belt Catch. (3) Buckle. (4) Release Button.Use the following steps to Fasten the Seat Belt:
Extend the seat belt and seat belt catch (2) from retractor (1) .
Insert the seat belt catch into buckle (3) until the buckle is correctly latched. Use care to avoid twisting the webbing.Use the following steps to Unfasten the Seat Belt:
Push down on release button (4). The release button is located on the buckle. The seat belt catch will release from the buckle.
The seat belt will automatically retract into retractor (1) .
