Information:

Change Oil and Filter Element
Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
1. Remove the access cover under the crankcase guard. 2. Remove the crankcase drain valve plug (2).3. Open the drain valve (1).4. Allow the oil to drain. Close the valve. Clean and install the drain plug.5. Install the access cover. 6. Open the right side access door. 7. Remove and discard the used filter element. Make sure all of used filter seal is removed from the filter base.8. Apply a thin coat of clean engine oil to the seal on the new filter.9. Install the filter by hand. Turn it until the filter contacts the base. Tighten 3/4 turn more. There are rotation index marks on each new filter spaced 90° apart, to be used as a guide for tightening. 10. Remove the crankcase fill cap. Fill crankcase with oil. See "Refill Capacities." 11. Maintain the oil between to the add and full mark on the dipstick.12. Clean and install the fill cap.13. Start the engine and check for leaks.14. Close the access door.(16)Cooling System
Add Cooling System Conditioner
At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure.Steam can cause personal injury.Check the coolant level ONLY when the engine is stopped and the radiator fill cap is cool enough to touch with your hand.Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure.Cooling System Conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
Do not add conditioner monthly unless the engine has actually operated 250 Service Hours. Adding conditioner before 250 Service Hours will result in an excessive concentration of conditioner.
1. Open the radiator cap slowly to relieve any pressure.2. Add .47 liters (1 pint) of Caterpillar Cooling System Conditioner.3. Install the radiator cap.(17)Fan Drive Bearing
Lubricate the Fitting1. Open the left rear access door. 2. Lubricate 1 fitting. Close the door.(18)Alternator and Fan Belts
Measure - Replace or Adjust if Necessary1. Open the left rear access door. 2. Look at the condition of the belts. If one belt is frayed or cracked, replace both belts.3. Measure the belt deflection. Apply approximately 110 N (25 lb.) force midway between pulleys. Deflection should be 14 to 20 mm (9/16 to 13/16 inch).To Adjust:
1. Loosen the locknut (1).2. Turn the adjusting nut (2) counterclockwise to tighten the belts or clockwise to loosen it. Tighten locknut (1) when the adjustment is correct.3. Close the door.(19)Refrigerant Compressor Belt
