Information:

Keep the machine under control at all times.Do not shift the transmission to NEUTRAL to allow the machine to coast.Select the gear range necessary before starting downgrade. Do not change gears while going downhill.A good practice is to use the same gear range going downgrade that would be used to go up the grade.Do not allow the engine to overspeed downhill. Use the service brake pedal to reduce engine overspeed going downhill. When the load will be pushing the machine, put the transmission control lever in FIRST speed before starting downhill. 1. Raise all lowered implements enough to clear any obstructions. 2. Push down on the service brake pedal to keep the machine from moving. 3. Pull out the parking brake knob to release the parking brake. 4. Pull the transmission neutral lock lever up to disengage the transmission neutral lock. 5. Move the transmission control lever to the desired direction and speed.6. Release the service brake pedal. 7. Turn the governor control handle to the desired engine speed.Changing Speed and Direction
Speed and directional changes at full engine speed are possible. However, for operator comfort and maximum service life of power train components, decelerating and/or braking, when changing directions is recommended. 1. Decrease the engine speed by move the governor control in, or by pushing the decelerator pedal (if equipped) down. 2. Push the service brake pedal down to stop the machine. 3. Move the transmission control lever to NEUTRAL.4. Move the transmission to the desired direction and speed. 5. Release the service brake pedal.6. Increase the engine speed by turning the governor handle clockwise.
Do not use brake pedals as foot rests to avoid early brake wear or damage.
Normal Steering
To make a gradual right turn, push down the right steering clutch/brake pedal until a slight pressure is felt. This will release the right steering clutch. To make a sharp right turn, push down completely on the right steering clutch/brake pedal. This will apply the right brake. To make a gradual left turn, push down the left steering clutch/brake pedal until a slight pressure is felt. This will release the left steering clutch. To make a sharp left turn, push down completely on the left steering clutch/brake pedal. This will apply the left brake.Steering on a Steep Downgrade
Cross steering is the term used to describe turning gradually on a steep downgrade by declutching, without braking. To make a gradual right turn, push the left steering clutch/brake pedal until a slight pressure is felt. This will release the left steering clutch (cross steering). To make a sharp right turn, push down completely on the right steering clutch/brake pedal. This will apply the right brake (normal steering). To make a gradual left turn, push the right steering clutch/brake pedal until a slight pressure is felt. This will release the right steering clutch (cross steering).
