Information:


All water is corrosive at engine operating temperature. Use Caterpillar coolant conditioner to treat either plain water or ethylene glycol antifreeze solution.Excessive coolant conditioner (greater than the recommended 6% initial fill) together with concentrations of antifreeze greater than 65%, cause a mud-like deposit to form. This may result in radiator tube blockage and overheating.
1. Remove the radiator coolant fill cap.2. Add .24 liters (1/2 pint) of liquid coolant conditioner.Final Drives
Check Oil Level
1. Remove the fill plugs.2. Maintain the oil level to the fill plug opening.3. Install the plugs.Tracks
Adjust the Tracks
Grease is under high pressure.Grease coming out of the relief valve under pressure can penetrate the body causing injury or death.Do not watch the relief valve to see if grease is escaping. Watch the track or track adjustment cylinder to see if the track is being loosened.Loosen the relief valve one turn only.
Move the machine forward at least twice the length of the machine. Allow the machine to coast to a stop. Do not brake machine to stop. Track should be adjusted under the same conditions in which the machine will be used. If packing conditions prevail on the job, the tracks should be adjusted with packing present.
Do not adjust track if dimension (A) is less than 19.0 mm (.75 inch). Contact your Caterpillar dealer for track service.
1. Raise the inspection plate and add (MPGM) grease through fill valve until track is tight. 2. Make a mark on the roller frame 13 mm (1/2inch) behind the idler bearing support.3. Be sure there is space for the front idler to retract. Raise the inspection plate. 4. Open the relief valve and allow the idler to move back. Moving the machine in REVERSE will help move the idler back.5. Close the relief valve. 6. Add (MPGM) grease through the fill valve until the mark on the roller frame is aligned with the rear edge of the idler bearing support.7. Repeat procedure on other track.Suspension Seat (If Equipped)

Lubricate 8 fittings.Brakes
Test the Brakes
Be sure the area around machine is clear of personnel and obstructions.Test the brakes on a dry level surface.Fasten the seat belt before testing the brakes.
