Use a suitable lift truck to position undercarriage frame (19) under the upper structure. Block the undercarriage frame so that the undercarriage frame cannot move.
Failure to properly assemble parts or failure to follow established procedures can lead to damage of the parts and assembly.To avoid damage to parts, always identify and mark the parts so that they can be installed in the same location. Ensure that gear surfaces align. Never force parts during assembly.
Remove the pins from the tubes of Tooling (B). Use Tooling (B) to lower the upper structure in 13 mm (0.5 inch) increments. Move the undercarriage frame in order to align Tooling (C) with the bolt holes in the undercarriage frame.
As the upper structure is being lowered, make sure that the pinion shaft aligns with the swing gear and bearing. Make sure that the dowel in the upper structure aligns with the dowel hole in the swing gear and bearing.

Apply a thin coat of Tooling (F) on the threads of bolts (5) which hold the upper structure to the undercarriage frame. Install bolts (5). Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 270 40 N m (200 30 lb ft).
Connect tube assembly (17) to the fitting on the front of the upper structure.

Install boot (16) and retainer (15) .

Install clamp (13) and bolts (14) .

Position bracket (11) and install bolts (12). Install pin (10) .
Install the fitting and connect hose assembly (9) .

Install the fittings and connect hose assemblies (8) and four hose assemblies (7) .

Remove Tooling (A) from the machine.

Position the stick and the boom. Install right hand boom cylinder (6). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Boom Cylinder - Install".
Remove Tooling (B) from the stick.

Remove Tooling (B) from the rear of the machine.

Remove bolts (1) and cover (2) from each final drive.
Install sun gear (4) in each final drive.
Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the ring gear and of the cover (2). Put a bead of Tooling (D) around the machined surface of the ring gear. Put cover (2) in the original position on the ring gear.
Apply Tooling (F) on the threads of bolts (1). Position cover (2) and install bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 25 6 N m (18 4 lb ft).
Install drain plug (3) .
Fill each final drive with oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Final Drive Oil Level - Check". Fill the hydraulic oil tank with oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Hydraulic System Oil Level - Check".End By: Install the quick coupler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Quick Coupler - Remove and Install".
