G3516 (3RC) EnginesDescription of Change: New variable timing control box assemblies [Altronic Interface Boxes (AIB's)] are used in the detonation sensitive timing ignition groups on these engines. The new AIB's provide a two degree timing advance for the engines center cylinders (cylinder numbers 7, 8, 9, and 10). This is necessary because the detonation sensor does not immediately "hear" detonation on the outside cylinders.Adaptable To: The new 136-3678 Variable Timing Control Box Assembly (AIB) is a direct replacement for the former 4P-7816 or 125-3347 Variable Timing Control Box Assembly used in the 9Y-0151 Gas Engine Ignition Group (detonation sensitive). The new 136-3348 Variable Timing Control Box Assembly (AIB) is a direct replacement for the former 4P-8401 or 125-3348 Variable Timing Control Box Assembly used in the 9Y-5311 Gas Engine Ignition Group (detonation sensitive). The former variable timing control box assemblies are canceled. The new AIB's are effective with G3516 (3RC1183). The new 133-1125 Electronic Module can be added to the former AIB's to provide the two degree timing advance for the engines center cylinders.
