Engine: C13 (S/N: LEE1-1974)Introduction
Do not perform any procedure in this Special Instruction until you read this information and you understand this information.The procedure in this Special Instruction provides instructions in order to replace the oil filter base and the oil cooler on certain C13 Engines with the S/N:LEE1-1974 serial number range. A new design change on the engine oil filter base and the engine oil cooler now requires additional parts when replacing or repairing the engine oil filter base and the engine oil cooler.
This procedure is only necessary if your engine's oil filter base and oil cooler are not working properly. If your engine's oil fitler base and oil cooler are working properly then disregard this Special Instruction.

Refer to the engine's Disassembly and Assembly, RENR9705, "Engine Oil Filter Base and Oil Cooler - Remove" to properly remove the oil cooler filter base and the oil filter.Refer to the engine's Disassembly and Assembly, RENR9705, "Engine Oil Filter Base and Oil Cooler - Install" to properly install the oil cooler filter base and the oil cooler.
