Installation
At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Remove the fill plug only when the engine is stopped, and the fill plug is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
1. Park the excavator in a suitable location.2. Release the pressure in the hydraulic oil tank by slowly loosening the pressure cap located on the side of the tank. 3. Disconnect four flexible hoses from the rotary joint connected to ports LF, LB, RF, and RB that supply hydraulic oil to the main forward and reverse lines to both travel motors. Mark the hoses so that they can be connected again to the correct port. Remove O-rings (22), O-rings (23), and connectors (26). 951592 O-rings (22), 6V9746 O-rings (23), and 862746 Connectors (26) will not be used again.4. Mark and disconnect two flexible hoses connected to both sides of T-joint (25) on drain port DR. Remove T-joint (25) and O-ring (21). 951585 O-ring (21) and 963812 T-joint (25) will not be used again. 5. Mark and disconnect two flexible hoses connected to both sides of T-joint (24) which is installed in Pi port at the bottom of the rotary joint. Remove T-joint (24) and O-ring (20). 951579 O-ring (20) and 963808 T-joint (24) will not be used again.6. Install vinyl plugs into all open ports on the rotary joint and to the ends of all flexible hoses that have been disconnected.
5I6254 Support location.
(F) Front. (R) Rear.7. Install 5I6254 Support (12) by welding it in place at the rear center of the base. Valve support (12) has two 12 mm (.47 in) diameter predrilled holes. Locate the hole that is 20 mm (.79 in) from the edge of the bracket. Position the 20 mm (.79 in) side so that it is nearest the center of the chassis.
Automatic travel speed change valve port identification. 8. Install 951578 O-ring (5), 951425 Connector (4), and 5I6255 Hose, Flexible (10) into ports R1, L1, L2, and Pii of 1R6800 Shuttle and ATS Valve Assembly (15). Tighten connections to 30 N m (22 lb ft).9. Install 951578 O-ring (5), 951425 Connector (4), and 5I6256 Hose, Flexible (9) into ports R2 and Dr of 1R6800 Shuttle and ATS Valve Assembly (15). Tighten connections to 30 3 N m (22 2 lb ft). 10. Install 951578 O-ring (5) and 937545 T-joint (11) into port Pio of 1R6800 Shuttle and ATS Valve Assembly (15). Tighten connections to 30 3 N m (22 2 lb ft).
(X) To left motor. (Y) To right motor.11. Install 1R6800 Shuttle and ATS Valve Assembly (15) along with the parts installed on it into support (12) using 8T4137 Bolts (1) and 7X0623 Washers (2). Tighten bolts to 33 3 N m (25 2 lb ft).12. Connect two pilot hoses that were disconnected in Step 3 to T-joint (11) on Port Pio of valve (15). Tighten the connections to 30 3 N m (22 2 lb
