Illustration 1 g01200822The piston motor for the brake cooling pump is located on the rear of the hydraulic tank. The piston motor drives a two-section gear pump that is located inside the hydraulic tank. This two-section gear pump provides oil flow for brake cooling. The piston motor for the brake cooling pump is powered by oil from the steering system. Oil flows from the piston pump for the steering system to the combination valve. The oil then flows to the rear axle cooling system, the rear axle lubrication system, and the piston motor for the brake cooling pump. Oil is prioritized from the combination valve to the steering system first. Oil is then supplied to the other systems. The piston motor for the brake cooling pump is electronically controlled by the brake ECM.
