Start By:a. remove bucketb. remove tilt link and lever 1. Extend tilt cylinder (1) as far as possible.2. Fasten a hoist to the tilt cylinder, and lift it into the position shown.3. Fasten the tilt cylinder to the cab with tool (A) and a lifting strap as shown. 4. Start the machine, and raise the lift arm assembly until the front and rear pin bores are level to each other as shown.5. Install tooling (B) under the lift arm assembly to support it as shown. 6. Remove grease fitting (2) from the pin assembly.7. Remove bolt (3) and the washer from the pin assembly. 8. Fasten a lifting strap and a hoist to the rod end of lift cylinder (4) as shown.9. Fasten tooling (C) to pin assembly (5). Fasten a hoist to tooling (C) so that it does not fall when the pin assembly is removed.10. Remove pin assembly (5).11. Lower the lift cylinder down onto the main frame.12. Repeat Steps 6 through 11 for the other lift cylinder.13. Retract the lift cylinders as far as possible. 14. Fasten lifting straps and a hoist to lift arm assembly (6) as shown. 15. Disconnect grease lines (7) from the pin assemblies that hold the lift arm assembly to the front main frame. 16. Remove bolt (9) and the washer from pin assembly (8). 17. Fasten tooling (D) to pin assembly (8). Fasten a hoist to tooling (D) so it does not fall when the pin assembly is removed.18. Remove pin assembly (8) with tooling (D).19. Remove the other pin assembly (8) as in Steps 16 through 18. 20. Remove lift arm assembly (6) from the machine. The weight of the lift arms is 1265 kg (2800 lb). 21. Put the lift arm assembly on wood blocks (10) to gain access to the pin bores. 22. Remove all lip-type seals (11) from the bores in the lift arm assembly. 23. Remove six bearings (12) from the bores in the lift arm assembly.Install Lift Arms
1. Lower the temperature of all the bearings before they are installed in the lift arm assembly.2. Using tooling (A), install the bearings in the bucket pin bores. Install the bearings until they are centered in the bores. 3. Using tooling (B), install the bearings in the lift cylinder pin bores. Install the bearings until they are centered in the bores. 4. Using tooling (C), install the bearings in the lift arm assembly-to-front main frame pin bores. Install the bearing until they are centered in the bores. 5. Using tooling (D), install the lip-type seals in the lift arm assembly. The seals must be installed with the sealing lip of each seal facing toward the outside of the bore.6. Put 5P960 Multipurpose Grease in all of the pin bores of the lift arm assembly and the front main frame. 7. Fasten lifting straps and a hoist to lift arm assembly (6). Put the lift arm assembly in position in the front main frame.8. Put tooling (E)
