This filter has other uses with the present production electronic hour meters like 9G6762 and 6T7337 where they are powered directly from the alternator "R" terminal and appear to be totaling time with the engine off. Where these applications are identified, clip off the output brown wire (B positive). Connect the black wire to the hour meter "negative" terminal and connect the "R" terminal output through the green filter leads to the "positive" terminal of the hour meter. The Sure-Seal contacts number one and number three are then connected to ground and "R" terminal signal respectively.
This change is especially useful on rental machines to assure correct hours.
