100 1 mm (3.90 0.04 inch)    Procedure for Installation of Fabricated Plates
Note: Protect all internal parts from damage when you are welding on the inside of the case.Note: When possible, all vertical welds should be made from the bottom to the top.Note: During welding, do not overheat and do not allow full cooling of the items and frame. Never allow the temperature of the casting to exceed 100 °C (210 °F) measured 17 3 mm (0.7 0.10 inch) from the weld.Note: Do not increase weld width or the weld length. Increasing the size of the welds adds heat, which may affect fitup of other items.Note: Grind uneven welds in order to avoid stress risers.
Drain the oil from the case.
Remove the track groups, track roller frames, and transmission and bevel gears. Cover the pivot shafts in order to prevent damage. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly manual, SENR3242 for removal procedures.

Use plate (A) as a template to cut out a section in both outboard sides of the frame rails. Refer to Table 8 for the dimensions and Illustration 8 for the proper orientation of plates (A) .Note: Use air arc gouging to cut the hole in the side frames, when possible.Note: There is an angle inside each rail. Make sure that the existing angle is removed.
