The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.Problem
The 364-4015 Level Sender As for the water tank may give erroneous readings.Solution
Use the following procedure to reset and test the level sender assembly.The level sender assembly must be reset prior to being tested for resistance.
Cycle the float of the level sender assembly to reset any reed switches that may have changed state.
Start with the float at the top of the sender.
Slide the float downward, all the way to the bottom of the sender.
Slide the float upward, all the way to the top of the sender.
Measure the resistance of the level sender assembly, with the float all the way at the top of the sender.Note: The measured resistance with float at the top should equal 30 Ohms 2.3 Ohms.
Return the float to the bottom of the sender.
Measure the resistance of the level sender assembly, with the float all the way at the bottom of the sender.Note: The measured resistance with float at the bottom should equal 240 Ohms 4.8 Ohms.
Slide the float throughout the range from top to bottom of the sender and measure the resistance of the level sender assembly.Note: The measured resistance should rise and fall evenly based on the position of the float.
If the level sender assembly meets all specifications, reinstall the sender.If the level sender assembly does not meet all specifications, replace the sender.
