Information:
The fuel temperature has exceeded the trip point and the delay time has expired. The Electronic Control Module (ECM) will reset the warning when the fuel temperature is above the reset value.The ECM detects all of the following conditions:
The engine has been running at least three minutes. This three minute delay begins once the engine speed is within 50 rpm of the low idle setting.
Diagnostic code 0174-02 is not active.System Response:The ECM will log the event. The event code can be viewed on the diagnostic screen of the electronic service tool.Troubleshooting:
There may be a problem with the fuel system.
There may be a problem with the fuel temperature sensor.Test Step 1. Check for Diagnostic Codes
Connect the electronic service tool to the diagnostic connector.
Turn the keyswitch to the ON position. Do not start the engine.
Check for any active diagnostic codes or logged diagnostic codes. Expected Result:There should be no diagnostic codes that are present.Results:
OK - Proceed to Test Step 2.
Not OK - Repair: Repair the fault that has generated the diagnostic code. Refer to the appropriate topic in Troubleshooting, "Troubleshooting with a Diagnostic Code".Ensure that the repair has eliminated the fault.STOPTest Step 2. Check the Fuel System
Perform a check of the fuel system. Refer to the appropriate topic in Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting for possible causes. Expected Result:There are no faults in the fuel system.Results:
OK - There may be an intermittent fault.Repair: Monitor the operation of the engine.If an intermittent fault is identified, repair the fault.Ensure that the repair has eliminated the fault.STOP
Not OK - Repair: Perform a further investigation of the fault.Ensure that any repair has eliminated the fault.STOP
