To prevent possible personal injury, make sure all the pressure in the air system has been released before any air hose assemblies are disconnected.
The air dryer is located behind the left front suspension cylinder on the outside of the frame assembly. 1. Put identification marks on four hose assemblies (2), (3), (4) and (6) for installation purposes. Disconnect four hose assemblies (2), (3), (4) and (6) from the air dryer. Cap and plug all connections.2. Disconnect wire harness (8) at the electrical connection. Do not remove clamps (7) from the air dryer during the removal procedure.3. Remove four bolts (5) and the washers that hold air dryer (1) to the frame assembly. Remove air dryer (1) with clamps (7) still attached from the frame assembly.4. For disassembly and assembly of the air dryer, see "Air Dryer For Vehicle Air Systems" module, SENR7474. The following steps are for the installation of the air dryer. 5. Put the air dryer, with clamps (7) attached in position on the frame assembly. Install four bolts (5) and the washers.6. Connect four hose assemblies (2), (3), (4) and (6) to air dryer (1).7. Connect switch (8).8. Start the machine to recharge the air reservoirs.
