HOSE AS 1400496 - Caterpillar

1. Remove the bolts that hold screen (1), and open the screen. Disconnect three electrical wires (2) from the alternator. 2. Loosen bolt (3) and nut (4). Move the alternator to release the tension on the fan belts. Remove the fan belts from the pulley on the alternator.3. Remove bolt (3). Remove nut and bolt (4). Remove alternator (6).4. To install, put alternator (6) in position on the support. Install nut and bolt (4), and just finger tighten the nut. Install bolt (3), but do not tighten it.5. Put fan belts (5) in position on the alternator pulley. See the topic, Install Fan Belts for adjustment of the belt tension.6. Connect three electrical wires (2) to the alternator. Close screen (1) and install the bolts that hold it.
