1. Open left side door of hood.2. Remove lubrication supply line (5) and return line (1) from the turbocharger.3. Disconnect throttle linkage (3) from governor.4. Disconnect fuel injection lines (2). Put a cap on all openings.5. Remove breather tube (4).6. Remove all bolts that hold fuel injection pump housing to the accessory drive housing and bracket.7. Remove the governor and fuel injection pump housing as a unit. Weight is 40 lb. (18 kg).Install Fuel Injection Pump Housing And Governor As A Unit
1. Remove crankcase breather from valve cover.2. Remove timing plug from the flywheel housing. 3. Put tool (A) in position on crankshaft pulley. Turn crankshaft clockwise as seen from the front of the engine (rear of machine) until a 3/8"-16 NC bolt (1), 2 1/2 in. long can be installed in the flywheel through the timing hole. If the timing hole in the flywheel is turned too far, do not turn the crankshaft back. Turn the crankshaft a full 360°.4. When No. 1 piston is at top center compression position, the intake and exhaust rocker arms for No. 1 cylinder can be moved through the breather hole in the valve cover.5. If the rocker arm can not be moved, remove the timing bolt and turn the crankshaft 360° and install the timing bolt again. 6. Install tool (B) on the rear face of the accessory drive housing. Install the plate with the dowels in the accessory drive housing in alignment with the dowel holes in the plate. If the timing fixture plate can not be installed, see TIMING ACCESSORY DRIVE SHAFT in TESTING AND ADJUSTING. 7. Loosen bolts (2) to prevent damage to the O-ring seals. 8. Put the fuel injection pump housing (3) and governor in position on the engine. Install all bolts that hold it to the accessory drive housing and bracket. Tighten the bolts (2) for the bracket. 9. Install the crankcase breather and tube (6).10. Install the turbocharger lubrication supply line (8) and return line (4).11. Connect the linkage (7) to the governor.12. Remove the timing bolt and install the plug.13. Remove the caps and connect the fuel injection lines (5). Tighten the nuts on the fuel injection lines to a torque of 30 5 lb.ft. (40 7 N m).14.
