A new repair kit for the throttle shaft, replacement throttle assemblies, and replacement carburetor assemblies are available for engines that operate in corrosive environments with a high salt content in the air or with a high sulfur content in the fuel. The corrosive elements may corrode the throttle shaft and the throttle shaft bearings. The result is sticking of the throttle shaft. This will cause sluggish engine performance and related problems with the speed control system.The new parts contain improved bearings and a stainless steel throttle shaft for better resistance to the corrosive elements in certain environments. The new parts are a direct replacement for the original parts. Refer to table 1. The original parts can still be purchased and the original parts can still be used in a noncorrosive environment.
