Schematic of the "Auxiliary Pedal Position Sensor (Attachment)" circuitThis diagnostic code is associated with the "Auxiliary Pedal Position" Sensor. The FMI "04" diagnostic code is activated when the Machine ECM detects that the voltage of the position sensor input signal is below normal.Note: The sensor is a PWM sensor that operates at a frequency of approximately 500 100 Hz. When the rear of the auxiliary pedal is fully depressed, the sensor PWM duty cycle input to the ECM is approximately 85 10 percent. When the front of the auxiliary pedal is fully depressed, the sensor PWM duty cycle input to the ECM is approximately 15 10 percent. When the auxiliary pedal is in the center position, the sensor PWM duty cycle input to the ECM is approximately 50 percent.The conditions that can cause this diagnostic code are listed below:
The signal circuit is shorted to a ground source.
The sensor has failed.
The Machine ECM has failed. This situation is unlikely. Note: Ensure that CID 1130 FMI 04 diagnostic code is active before performing this procedure. Note: The following test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Ignore these created diagnostic codes and clear the diagnostic codes when the problem has been corrected.Before performing this procedure, inspect the harness connectors that are involved in the circuit. Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean, secure and in good condition.
