1. Install the 133-4817 or 133-7396 Compressor Bypass Conversion Arrangements as in Illustration 1. Leave the newly installed 8C-1358 Ball Valve in the fully closed position.2. Reference the Special Instruction, SEHS9769, "Installation And Initial Start-Up Procedures For G3500 Engines" and adjust the engine. Obtain the proper 02 (emissions) level and throttle angle while the engine is operating at rated load.3. --------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------Description of Change: A new compressor bypass conversion arrangement has been designed to eliminate turbocharger surge in the above engines. If the engine experiences surge during abrupt load changes or when it is put into lug, the ball valve can be adjusted to eliminate it. This adjustment should be made at the engine load point for which the engine is expected to operate.
Adaptable To: This change is adaptable to G3508 Industrial Engines effective with (2JF330-Up), and G3508 Industrial Engines effective with (9TG91-Up) serial numbers.
