Introduction
This Special Instruction contains the information on how to install the plug on the front head of certain H110E - H180E hammers.Checking the Grease Plugs

Note: Only perform this procedure once. Once the procedure has been performed on a specific hammer, do not repeat the procedure during the next service interval. Check the grease plugs during the annual service of the hammer. Refer to the illustration for the location of the grease plugs.
Start by removing the powercell from the housing.

Inspect both the upper and the lower grease plug. Refer to the illustration for correct installation. If the plug looks similar to the illustration, stop. No further rework is necessary. Proceed with scheduled maintenance.Installation Procedure

If one or both grease plugs looks like this illustration, replace both grease port plugs using the following procedure:Start by removing powercell from housing.Refer to service manual for specific instructions.
Remove old plug.
Clean port thoroughly with suitable cleaner.
Verify surface, threads, and thread roots are free from oil, grease, and debris.
Allow port to dry.
Clean 9S-8004 O-Ring Plug with suitable cleaner.
Install 3J-1907 O-Ring Seal onto 9S-8004 O-Ring Plug .
Verify surface, thread, and thread roots are free from oil, grease, and debris.
Allow plug to dry.
Apply Loctite 7649 primer to threads of 9S-8004 O-Ring Plug .
Verify that threads all the way around the plug are coated in 7649 primer.

Apply Loctite 272 thread locker to thread of the 9S-8004 O-Ring Plug .
Verify that threads all the way around the plug are coated in 272 thread locker.
. Install 9S-8004 O-Ring Plug into port.
Torque 9S-8004 O-Ring Plug to 45 N m (33 lb ft).
Use cold chisel to stake plug into slot in front head.Note: Do not strike front head with chisel.
