Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the oscillating axle.

Remove yoke (2) from the differential pinion shaft.
Attach a suitable lifting device to trunnion support (1). Remove trunnion support (1) from the oscillating axle. The weight of trunnion support (1) is approximately 34 kg (75 lb).

Remove lip seal (3) from trunnion support (1). Repeat this step for the lip seal on the opposite side of trunnion support (1).
Remove retaining ring (4) that holds sleeve bearing (5) in trunnion support (1).
Use a suitable press to remove sleeve bearing (5) from trunnion support (1).Installation Procedure

Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press to install sleeve bearing (5) (not shown) in trunnion support (1). Make sure that sleeve bearing (5) contacts the counterbore in trunnion support (1).
Install retaining ring (4) (not shown) that holds sleeve bearing (5) in trunnion support (1).

(3) Lip Seal. (4) Retaining Ring. (5) Sleeve Bearing.
Note: Each seal must be installed so that the sealing lip is facing toward the outside of the trunnion support, as shown.
Use a suitable press and Tooling (A) to install lip seal (3) in both sides of the trunnion support. Make sure that the seals contact the counterbores in the trunnion support.
Apply Tooling (B) on the sealing lips of the lip seals.

Attach a suitable lifting device to trunnion support (1). Install trunnion support (1) on the oscillating axle. The weight of trunnion support (1) is approximately 34 kg (75 lb).
