(17) High-pressure water motorNote: The above schematic shows the water spray motors and pumps. The auxiliary pump provides the supply oil to each motor. The return from each motor is sent to the hydraulic tank. Refer to the machine schematic for detailed plumbing information.Low-pressure water pump (2) is a centrifugal-type pump. High-pressure water pump (5) is a piston-type pump. An associated hydraulic motor turns each pump. Each motor is a gear-type motor. While the displacement of the motors differs, the general operation of the motors is the same. Oil flow through the motors is controlled by a solenoid. Water spray solenoid (9) is proportionally controlled. The high-pressure water solenoid (15) is controlled with a digital signal. The valve body of each motor has an anticavitation check valve.Low-pressure water pump (2) draws water from water tank (1) and directs pressurized water to low-pressure spray components (3).High-pressure water pump (5) draws water from water tank (4) and directs pressurized water to high-pressure spray components (6).The low-pressure water spray system is shown operating in the above illustration. In this case, water spray solenoid (9) is energized. The electrical signal to the water spray solenoid is determined by the desired flow rate set by the operator. When the low-pressure water spray system is operating, supply oil from auxiliary pump (11) flows through flow limiter valve (10) to water spray solenoid (9). The water spray solenoid directs oil to hydraulic motor (7). Oil flows through the motor, causing the motor to turn low-pressure water pump (2). Return oil from the hydraulic motor is sent through a passage to hydraulic tank (12).During low-pressure water spray system operation, changes to the water pump output pressure affect the current signal to water spray solenoid (9). When water flow rates are commanded, the motor command current changes to affect the flow and pressure on the outlet side of water spray pump (2). Flow limiter valve (10) reacts to these changes to maintain a smooth transition during water flow rate changes. If the system runs out of water, the flow limiter valve also limits the pump speed to prevent damage. When a water spray system is turned off, the associated control solenoid is de-energized. In this case, momentum in the system continues to turn the water pump and motor. The high-pressure water system is shown in this condition in the above schematic. Under these conditions, the high-pressure water solenoid (15) blocks the supply oil from auxiliary pump (13). Motor rotation creates a lower oil pressure on
