Lubricate seal (1) and Tooling (A) with clean engine oil. Place the seal into position on pump (2).

Use Tooling (A) and a hammer to install seal (1).

Move bracket (3) into position around pump (2).

Install spacers (4) between the flanges on pump (2) and the bracket. Install the bolts, washers, and nuts (5) that attach the pump to the bracket. Do not tighten the bolts yet. Allow approximately 6.4 mm (0.25 inch) of play.
If the valve on the pump is used for handling of the pump, the valve can be damaged. Do not use the valve on the pump for moving the pump.

The pump and bracket (4) will be installed as a unit. The weight of the pump plus the weight of the bracket is approximately 208 kg (460 lb). Attach a suitable lifting device to the pump and the bracket. Orient the pump and the bracket onto the base of the bracket.

Install Tooling (B) into the front housing.

Orient the straps for lifting of the pump and bracket.

Lift the pump into position on Tooling (B). Move the pump into position on the front housing. Ensure that the drive gear is properly meshed with the auxiliary drive. Remove each guide pin one at a time and install the bolts and washers that attach the pump to the front housing.

Loosen bolts (5) that attach pump (2) to bracket (3). Make sure that the bracket is resting on the base.
Use a feeler gauge to measure the clearance between the flanges on pump (2) and bracket (3). Measure the clearance on both sides of the pump. Measure the clearance on the front and the rear of bracket (3). This measurement is the required amount of shims.

Install shims (6) under the base of bracket (3). The thickness of the shims are determined by the measurements from Step 10.
Install the bolts, washers, and locknuts that attach bracket (3) to the base.
Connect the water lines to the auxiliary pump.
