Removal Procedure
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on all wires, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Battery Disconnect Switch".

Remove four screws (1) in order to remove two covers (2). Note: The top cover is held in place with a tape strip. The top cover may be removed by pulling up on the cover.

A tape strip is attached between windshield wiper control (3) and retarder control (4). Remove the tape strip from the windshield wiper control and the retarder control. See the white arrow in Illustration 2.

After the tape strip has been removed, clean the surface of the windshield wiper control and the retarder control. See the white arrow in Illustration 3.

Remove six screws (5) in order to remove covers (6) from steering column (7).

Remove cable strap (8) and disconnect harness assemblies (9) from steering column (7).

Remove screws (10) in order to disconnect the retarder control and the windshield wiper control from steering column (7). Remove the retarder control and the windshield wiper control from the machine.

Remove screws (11) in order to disconnect switch (12) and harness assembly (13) from steering column (7).

Remove bolt (14) in order to disconnect harness assembly (13) from steering column (7). Position harness assembly (13) to the side.

Remove bolt (15) from joint assembly (16).

Remove bolts (17) in order to remove steering column (7).
