The dry nitrogen gas is contained in the end of the accumulator.
Remove cover (1) and cap (2) from the valve assembly on the top of the accumulator.
Install the pressure gauge from Tooling (D) into the quick disconnect on valve (D6) . The pressure gauge is a 25000 kPa (3500 psi) pressure gauge. This pressure gauge should be used in order to check the nitrogen pressure in the accumulator. Close valve (D6) .
Install chuck (D9) on the valve on the top of the accumulator.
Turn needle valve that is located on (D9) fully to the right. Measure the ambient temperature around the accumulator. When you check the 346-4328 Accumulator for the nitrogen charge pressure, refer to Table 2. When you check 335-8667 Accumulator for the proper nitrogen charge, refer to Table 3. Locate this ambient temperature in the left column of the table. Read this row in order to determine the correct charging pressure. The reading on pressure gauge (D7) corresponds to the pressure of the dry nitrogen gas in the accumulator. The nitrogen pressures for the accumulator must be within the tolerances.
Decrease the nitrogen pressure if the nitrogen pressure in the 346-4328 Accumulator is greater than the specified value in Table 2. Decrease the nitrogen pressure if the nitrogen pressure in the 335-8667 Accumulator is greater than the specified value in Table 3. Decrease the nitrogen pressure by slowly opening valve (D6) .
Increase the nitrogen pressure if the nitrogen pressure in the 346-4328 Accumulator is less than the specified value in Table 2. Increase the nitrogen pressure if the nitrogen pressure in the 335-8667 Accumulator is less than the specified value in Table 3. Increase the nitrogen pressure to the specified level. Increase the nitrogen pressure according to "Charging the Cushion-Hitch Accumulator".Charging the Cushion-Hitch Accumulator
Increase the nitrogen pressure in the accumulator according to the following steps:
Connect the hose to regulator (D8) on the nitrogen cylinder and valve (D6) .
Close valve (D6) . Open the valve on the nitrogen cylinder. Adjust pressure regulating screw on regulator assembly (D8) . Adjust pressure regulating screw until pressure gauge second from the bottle is at the correct charging pressure. Use Table 2 to determine the correct charge pressure for the 346-4328 Accumulator . Use Table 3 to determine the correct charge pressure for the 335-8667 Accumulator .Note: The regulator that is nearest the bottle measures the bottle pressure. The regulator that is second from the bottle measures the line pressure.
Open valve (D6) . Charge the accumulator. Close valve (D6) . Compare the reading on pressure gauge second from the bottle with the reading on pressure gauge (D7) . If these two readings are
