Hydrostatic Transmission Oil Filter Element
Drain Filter Element Housing
Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
To avoid transmission contamination, the filter element housing must be drained of oil before removing filter element.
943 and 9531. Unlatch and open the access cover, located at front of machine. 2. Pull the drain hose out.3. Remove the drain plug from the hose.4. Allow the oil to drain from the filter housing.5. Reinstall the drain plug and close the cover.
963 and 9731. Remove the access cover, located under rear of machine. 2. Pull the drain hose out.3. Remove the drain plug from the hose.4. Allow the oil to drain from the filter housing.5. Reinstall the drain plug and reinstall the cover.Change the Filter Element
Complete the "Cab Tilt Procedure" in the "Maintenance" Guide for your machine. Then proceed with this filter element change procedure, which is identical on all machine models. 1. Remove the bolts and cover assembly. 2. Remove the used filter element (1).3. Inspect the seal (2) on top of housing. Replace, if cut or damaged.
Dirty oil or debris left in the transmission filter housing during filter change can enter the transmission and cause serious damage. Use a clean, dry cloth to clean the bottom of the housing.
4. Clean the bottom of the housing with a clean, dry cloth. 5. Insert a new filter element into the housing. 6. Reinstall the cover assembly and bolts.Complete "Lowering the Cab" procedure in the "Maintenance" Guide for your machine. Start the engine and refill the transmission oil as specified in the "Every 10 Hours or Daily."
