Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Service Manual, SENR5664, "All Products Air Conditioning and Heating R-134a for all Caterpillar Machines" for the recovery and charging procedure. Refer to Special Publication, NEDG5065, "Air Conditioning Tools" for the correct tools.
Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

Remove screws (1) and plate (2). Remove floor mat (3).

Remove bolts (5) and (6). Slide seat assembly (4) forward.

Remove duct (7).

Remove bolts (9) and duct (10).

Remove louver (11). Repeat for the other side.

Disconnect hose assemblies (22). Disconnect hoses (23).

Remove screws (26) and plate (27).
Remove bolts (29) and heating and air conditioning unit (28).Installation Procedure
Install heating and air conditioning unit (28) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten bolts (29) and (25) to a torque of 30 7 N m (266 62 lb in).
Tighten screws (26) to a torque of 1.7 0.5 N m (15 4 lb in).
