Removal Procedure
Personal injury can result from failure to disconnect the battery.First, disconnect the negative battery cable. Then, disconnect the positive battery cable.A positive power lead can cause sparks if the battery is not disconnected. Sparks can possibly result in battery explosion or fire.
Disconnect the batteries.
Place identification marks on all of the harness assemblies and disconnect the harness assemblies.
Remove the belt. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belts - Inspect/Replace".

Remove bolts (1) and alternator (2). Installation Procedure

If necessary, install the pulley on alternator (2). Install the nut. Refer to Specifications, "Alternator and Regulator" for the proper torque for your alternator.
Position alternator (2) on the alternator mounting bracket. Install bolts (1).
Install the belt. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belts - Inspect/Replace".
Connect the harness assembly to alternator (2) and install the bolt. Refer to Specifications, "Alternator and Regulator" for the proper torque for your alternator.
Connect the harness assembly to alternator (2) and install the nut. Refer to Specifications, "Alternator and Regulator" for the proper torque for your alternator.
Connect the batteries.
