Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the secondary fuel filter and fuel filter base.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove bracket assembly (1).
Disconnect clips (2). Disconnect hose and tube assembly (3). Move hose and tube assembly (3) out of the way.

Disconnect tube assembly (4).

Disconnect clips (5).

Disconnect hose (7) from tube assembly (6). Disconnect clip (8) from tube assembly (6).

Disconnect tube assemblies (6) and (9). Disconnect hose assembly (10).

Remove bolt (12). Loosen bolt (13). Reposition bracket (11).

Attach a suitable lifting device to piston pump (15). Remove bolts (14). Use the suitable lifting device in order to remove piston pump (15). Installation Procedure
Install piston pump (15) in the reverse order of removal.
