g. Use tool (A) to compress the spring on plunger assembly (31). Remove retaining ring (39) from plunger (31). Release the spring tension, and remove tool (A). h. Remove spring seat (38), inner spring (37), outer spring (36), spring seat (35) and retainer (34) from the plunger.j. Repeat steps 13f through 13h for the remaining plunger assembly (31). 14. Disassemble pilot valve (21) as follows:a. Position pilot valve (21) on a flat clean surface. Remove fitting (40) and valve assembly (41) from the valve body. Remove the o-ring seal from fitting (40). Only the o-ring seals and the back-up rings used on valve assembly (41) are serviced.b. Remove fitting (40) from valve assembly (41). Remove the o-ring seal from the fitting.c. Remove o-ring seals (42), (43) and (46) from valve assembly (41). Remove back-up rings (44) and (45) from valve assembly (41). d. Remove fitting (47) and valve assembly (48) from the valve body.e. Remove the o-ring seals and back-up rings from valve assembly (48) as in Steps 14b and 14c. f. Remove two plunger assemblies (49) from the valve body. g. Use tool (A) to compress the spring on plunger assembly (49). Remove retaining ring (50) from plunger assembly (49). Release the spring tension, and remove spring seat (52) and spring (51). h. Mark the position of nut (53) on the plunger. Remove the nut.j. Remove washer (54), spring (55), retainers (57) and (58), spring seat (59) and retaining ring (60) from the plunger.k. Remove o-ring seal (56) from retainer (57). Remove the U-cup seal in the bore of retainer (57).l. Disassemble the other plunger assembly (49) as in Steps 14g through 14k. m. Remove valve assembly (61) and plug (62) from the valve body. Spool (61) is part of valve assembly (61). The spool must be removed from the same side of the valve body in which plug (62) was removed.n. Remove spring (69), tube (68) and spool (61) from the valve body.o. Remove o-ring seal (70) from plug (62).p. Remove o-ring seals (63), (64) and (66). Remove back-up rings (65) and (67).Assemble Pilot Control Valve
1. Be sure all parts of the pilot control valve are thoroughly clean and free of dirt and debris prior to assembly.2. Check the condition of all o-ring seals and back-up rings used in the pilot control valve. If the seals or rings are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.3. Put clean hydraulic oil on all internal parts of the pilot control valve during assembly.4. Assemble pilot control valve (21) as follows: a. Install o-ring seals (63), (64) and (66) and back-up rings (65) and (67) on the valve assembly. Be sure the o-ring seals and the back-up rings are installed in the positions shown in Photo C41934P1.b. Install o-ring seal (70) on plug (62).c. Install spool (61), tube (68) and spring (69) in the valve body. Install plug (62), and tighten it to a torque of 48 7 N m (35 5 lb ft).d. Install valve
