The machine must be on a level, hard surface before a separation of the track is made. Any time a separation of both tracks is made, the machine must have blocks correctly positioned so the machine will not move.

Remove the bolts and cover (1) from the roller frame. Remove the O-ring seal from the cover.
Illustration 2 g00733399
Personal injury can result from grease under high pressure. The adjuster cylinder for the track is under high hydraulic pressure. Grease under high pressure can cause injury. Do not visually inspect the adjuster to see if grease is released when the valve is opened. Check the rod to see that it moves to the rear into the front support on the track roller frame.
Loosen the track with the following procedure.
Turn relief valve (2) counterclockwise. This will allow the grease to be released from the track adjuster. If the track does not loosen, follow the next step.
Turn fill valve (3) counterclockwise. This will allow the grease to be released from the track adjuster. If the track adjuster does not loosen, start the machine, and move the machine forward and backward. If the track does not loosen, follow the next step.
Install a piece of round bar stock between the bushing and sprocket inside the links. Move the machine to the rear so the track will be pushed up by the round bar stock. Tension will be put on the track. The track adjuster will now move in.
Illustration 3 g00733400
Move the track until the master link is in alignment with the centerline of rear idler (5). Put wood blocks under the grouser bar just below the master link.
Remove four bolts (6) and master shoe (4).
Illustration 4 g00733401
Keep away from the front of the machine when the track is pushed off the final drive. A minimum distance of 7.6 m (25 ft) is needed in front of the track to permit the track to move out onto the floor.
Fasten a chain to the end of track (7). Attach the other end of the chain to a lift truck. Rotate the final drive in a forward direction. Allow track (7) to fall forward while the lift truck is moved forward.
Use Tooling (A) to lift the side of the machine and remove the track. Put Tooling (B) in position under the machine. Lower the machine on Tooling (B).
Remove the track from the track roller frame. The weight of the track is approximately 680 kg (1500.0 lb).
