This Program must be administered as soon as possible.When reporting the repair, use "PI32617" as the Part Number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Codeand "T" as the SIMS Description code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI32617" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number,"96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.
This Revised Service Letter replaces the 13Apr2016 Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Affected Product, Parts Needed, Action Required, and Service Claim Allowances.

PROBLEM
The 423-0848 Communication Electronics Wiring Harness needs to be reworked on certain G3508B, G3512B, G3516B, and G3520B Engines. Failure to rework the existing harness can cause the 463-1128 or 463-1129 Compressor By-Pass Valve to not function properly or fail, resulting in logged 1720-12 or 1720-9 turbocharger compressor bypass valve actuator failure code. Once rework is done compressor by-pass valve will not fail with above codes.

ACTION REQUIRED
If the Compressor By-Pass Valve has failed and has logged 1720-9 or 1720-12 codes, please replace with the new Reman compressor by-pass valve, it is not necessary to preform the before failure wiring harness rework if compressor by-pass valve is replaced.
Note: Refer to disassembly and assembly manual for effected model on procedure for remove and installation of compressor by-pass valve.
