SEAL-O-RING 1336578 - Caterpillar

Generator Set:
C15 (S/N: PET1-UP)
C18 (S/N: PEJ1-UP)
Description of Change: The new seals are used on the front cover of the power distribution box. Also, new seals are used between the circuit breakers and the top of the box.Adaptable To: The new seals are adaptable back to first production on the serial numbers that are listed above. Utilize the procedure below for installing the new seals.This change is effective for the serial numbers listed in Table 1.

Ensure that all power is disconnected and all necessary safety procedures have been followed.

(1) Cover (2) Four cover bolts (3) Power distribution box
Remove bolts (1) that secures cover (1) to box (3) .

(4) Four mounting bolts
Remove mounting bolts (4) that secure the box to the mounting bracket

(5) Two machine screws
Remove screws (5) that secure the circuit breaker to the top of the box.and

New 4F-9241 Gasket installed on top of the circuit breaker
Pull the circuit breaker down far enough to slide the new 4F-9241 Gasket on top of the breaker.Note: The gasket should fit between the top of the breaker and the inside of the box.
Move the circuit breaker back into position and reinstall the machine screws.
Repeat Step 4 through Step 6 for the remaining three breakers.

(4) Four mounting bolts
Reinstall mounting bolts (4) in order to mount the power distribution box onto the mounting bracket.

(5) 5P-5637 Seal
Install the new 5P-5637 Seal around the perimeter of the inside of the cover.

Reinstall bolts (2) that secure the cover to the box.
