5. Remove two bolts from the top of circle drive (5). Install two 1/2"-13 NC forged eyebolts (7) in the top of the circle drive.6. Fasten a hoist to the eyebolts. Remove circle drive (5). Weight is 350 lb. (159 kg).Install Circle Drive
1. Remove two bolts from the top of circle drive (2). Install two 1/2"-13 NC forged eyebolts in top of the circle drive.2. Fasten a hoist to the eyebolts. Put circle drive (2) in position on circle drawbar (1). Install the bolts that hold the circle drive to the circle drawbar. Later model machines will have four bolts. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 480 20 lb.ft. (650 27 N m). Remove the two eyebolts from the circle drive. Install the two bolts that hold the top cover of the circle drive in position. 3. Start the engine. Move the machine forward until the circle drive pinion is engaged in the circle. Make sure the drive pinion is against the circle.4. Put shoes (5) and their respective shims in position on the circle drawbar. Install the bolts that hold the rear shoes. Do not tighten the bolts. Make sure setscrew (3) and nut (4) are loose. 5. Use the following procedure to make an adjustment to the shoes.a) Use floor jacks to push circle (10) up against wear strip (7).b) Use a feeler gauge to check dimension (X). Dimension (X) is the distance between the bottom of circle (10) and the top of wear strip (8). Add or subtract shims (6) until dimension (X) is .024 .012 in. (0.6 0.3 mm). Remove the floor jacks.c) Adjust setscrew (3) until dimension (Y) is .031 .012 in. (0.8 0.3 mm). Dimension (Y) is the distance between the side of circle (10) and the side of wear strip (8). Tighten nut (4).d) Tighten nuts (9) to a torque of 516 20 lb.ft. (700 27 N ). 6. Tighten nuts (11) that hold two side shoes (12) to the drawbar. Tighten the nuts to a torque of 516 20 lb.ft. (700 27 N ).7. Remove tooling (A).END BY:a) install circle drive motorDisassemble Circle Drive
START BY:a) remove circle drive 1. Put the circle drive on its side. Remove two bolts (2) and cover (3) from cage (1). Remove the gasket from the cover. 2. Remove bolt (4) and spacer (5) from the shaft. Later model machines will have a nut instead of bolt (4).3. Remove bolts (6). Use two 3/8"-16 NC forcing screws to remove cage (1) from the housing. Remove the Duo-Cone seal from the cage.4. Remove the bearing from cage (1) with tooling (A). 5. Remove Duo-Cone seal (10) from pinion (11). Put the Duo-Cone seal with the one that was removed from cage (1).6. Remove collar (7) from shaft (8). Remove pinion (11) from housing (9). Remove the Duo-Cone seal and the washer from pinion (11). Remove the other half of the Duo-Cone seal from housing (9).
